Offended? By what is where to begin–not by whom. Attacking the messenger doesn’t resolve anything; the truth will stand on its own. If it’s the truth ( 1 ) by which we’re offended, then we’re in trouble. (Note that the most righteous man on this earth offended others.) Read more… “Sometimes The Truth Offends”→
From time to time Paul Washer’s name is brought up in personal conversations. Some say he’s a great man of God and others say he isn’t. Some don’t think too much of him because he’s a Calvinist and others don’t like him because he’s in the Lordship Salvation camp. Some refers to the Biblical truths he preaches and how he’s helped them to see the deeper truths of obtaining and maintaining a closer walk with God.
Up front: I am not a Calvinist–I believe everyone chooses and I also believe in the sovereignty of God. (I don’t think Calvinists would understand that one.) Anyway, this isn’t about Calvinism.
I realize lots of people don’t have time to watch videos and there are some who will not watch YouTube at all. There are some who will if the videos are short. But lengthy YouTube videos is all I have to offer. Sorry if I’ve wasted your time.
If you care to invest some time to understand a little more about the upper ranks of “Christian” leaders and how some oppose one another and who some align themselves with, then what follows might be for you.
This one starts at 48:00:00 (the 48 minute mark):
Willful blindness. We need to be on guard as to who we align ourselves with. If we love Jesus, we will not bow to men. If we align ourselves with man, it is evidenced by our refusal to learn the truth, live the truth and identify the lies. Our refusal to worship Him in spirit and truth is evidence that we do not love Him.
If I’m loved by someone, they’ll tell me the truth–right? If they can’t tell me the truth it is either because they’re innocently in the dark or they are willfully in the dark or they are rebellious.
Paul. in the Bible said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” How does one do that? By knowing the Bible. Why?
Because “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Is not the words Jesus spoke spirit? Is not the words Jesus spoke the Word of God? If we follow the Spirit we follow the truth. If we worship Him in spirit and in truth, we have life.
Read the Word. Follow Him and live!

I would guess that Paul Washer, Jacob Prasch and the guy in the last two videos are not perfect in everything they say and do. I know I’m not. Are you? This is a daily walk and we have things to overcome in this walk and sometimes we take longer to be an over-comer than we should. One of the more difficult faults to overcome is not to forgive. Does not the Bible tell teach us to forgive? Jacob Prasch, of all people, seems to be having a hard time with this one, as well as David Nathan. I wonder if they’ve overcome this obstacle yet. If either, or somehow both, of them are right then why is that they got so easily offended?
There again, we have to know the Bible (His Word–His spirit–His truth being followed in our lives) to be able not to get sucked into the black hole of disobedience.
It is God who is to be glorified. To disobey Him is to glorify our own selves.
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” -The Bible
